Bev & I had fun today being creative with jewelry making and our time. She picked out beads for the trapeze earrings while I worked on special orders. We are team working in order to get ready for the jewelry party. I just finished putting the trapeze earrings together and here they are:
Wire-wrapped glass, tangerine cube beads and deep turquoise glass seed beads make a bold statement in this necklace. This necklace measures 21 inches in length and comes with matching tangerine earrings. This necklace was created out of sheer curiosity of wire-wrapping the cubed beads… “What would happen if?”… So, I just started playing and this is the result. I loved the way the bluish-green seed beads looked with it so I added four strands on each side. This necklace will be perfect for a night out or some other event where bold jewelry is appropriate.
“Let my mouth be filled with your praise and with your glory all the day” (NKJ).
I like that the color yellow symbolizes glory. Think about some things that are yellow that reminds you of God’s glory. For instance, I praise God when I see beautiful yellow sunrises and the sun’s shining yellow rays breaking through a cloudy day. These earrings kind of remind me off a sunrise—in an abstract way. Nevertheless, the soft glow of these yellow earrings will remind me of God’s glory.
Cecily Earrings: Honey Opal and Glass – measuring approximately 1 ¾ inches in length and 1 ½ inches in width.
Quartz crystal briolette beads are elegantly wrapped with wire and suspended from simple French ear wires. These earrings measure approximately 3 inches from the ear wire.
According to Precious Stones of the Bible (http://preciousstonesofthebible.com/colorsymbolism.html), crystal is referenced in Job 28:17, Isaiah 54:12, and Revelation 4:6, 21:11 and 22:1. Revelation 21:11 stood out to me, “having the glory of God. Her light was like a most precious stone, like a jasper stone, clear as crystal” (NKJV). I like this verse because it speaks of light being like a “precious stone.” This light is referring to the New Jerusalem, but it makes me think about God’s light in us and how we need to let it shine (sound familiar?). This verse does not say quartz crystal, but mentions the color, which solidifies my reasoning for focusing more on colors for my Stones of the Bible jewelry making endeavor. These earrings can be a reminder to let God’s light shine through you!
