It has been a while! I have not forgotten—I have just been a little distracted. Now, on to the next color…brown: “brown symbolizes earthen vessels and humility” (www.preciousstonesof thebible.com). I have been avoiding this color and I don’t know why because I have a lot of gorgeous brown beads. I have been thinking about this Bible blog post for a while and knew that I still had more to post (two left after this one), but this time I knew exactly what beads I was going to use. I prayed about a design and these earrings are the result. I love that brown symbolizes humility. I don’t know about you, but humility… humbleness… is something that I could use more of. I found this Bible verse on humility:
Proverbs 15:33 “The fear of the Lord is the instruction for wisdom, and before honor comes humility (NASB).”
Honor comes after humility. To me, this means in order to be your best, you need to be humble. God’s Word instructs us to love each other. Ephesians 4:2 “with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love” (NASB). This is often hard to do, especially if someone rubs you the wrong way. I must make it a priority to be humble even when I don’t feel like it. I have made plenty of mistakes; however, focusing on God’s Word and taking one day at a time helps me. I am thankful that I can depend on His strength and not my own.
Paz is Spanish for “peace” (babynames.com). I thought that this was an appropriate name for these earrings since they symbolize humility. The earrings measure just shy of 3” in total length.
